FTP INSTRUCTION PAGE

Studios and Photographers wishing to electronically transmit their files to Central Camera for printing will find FTP very fast. If you do not have an FTP account with central camera, simply email us and we will create one for you.

Select the Photo files you wish processed. These may be JPG, TIF, or PSD files. Place or copy them into a folder. Next you will compress the entire folder. This will make one large file of the entire folder contents. In addition it provides a sort of safety wrapper on the files to protect them from corruption as they move across servers through the internet.

STEP 2: LOGON TO FTP SERVER TO UPLOAD FILES
These instructions are specific to Windows XP & Internet Explorer 6 or newer.
Click on this link: ftp://ftp.centralcamera.net
This will prompt you to logon to the server.
Enter your USER NAME as it was provided to you by Central Camera. Be aware whether the "CAPS LOCK" key is selected on your keyboard as this will affect the entry of usernames and passcodes.

Next enter your PASSWORD.

You may select SAVE PASSWORD to make this entry unnecessary on return visits.
TRANSFER FILES TO FTP SERVER.
The window that will open on your computer is the FTP SERVER. There will not be any files on the server when your account is first created. You may copy and paste files to the FTP using the RightMouse button's copy/paste. It is simpler to drag the files directly to the server. Use the LeftMouse button on the zipped folder of files and drag it to the server as you see in this simple 1-2-3 illustration below.
MANAGING THE FTP FILES
Files sent in error may be deleted. You may also delete files after they have been printed for you. Using the RightMouse Button, select DELTE on any files you wish to remove.
PLACING YOUR ODER FOR PRINTS AT CENTRAL CAMERA:
If you have a list of the files and desired print sizes you may include that in the folder of pictures that are uploaded to FTP site. This file may also be sent after the files are uploaded. We can read almost any type of document such as Microsoft Word or Excel listing your print order. Remember we are here to serve you and want to make everything as simple as possible. If you already typed something up in a program just send it to us. We do need to receive an email alerting us to the files on the server! You may also include your print instructions for size and such in that email.

WE ALSO HAVE AN ONLINE ORDER FORM to help you communicate with us: Click here for the form

The form is very simple and brief to complete and clicking on SUBMIT on the bottom of this form will send us an email with all your instructions in a format that's quick and easy for us to work from.
